Pha Taem
Pha Taem is the name of the painted cliff, the word ‘Pha’ means cliff and ‘Taem’ refers to painting. Pha Taem is well – known and unique for its prehistoric paintings which date back to 3,000 – 4,000 years before history. The paintings scattering along the cliff over an area of 180 meters with more than 300 pictures, they can be categorized into four groups, the most outstanding pieces include the pictures of elephants, fish, fishing tool (made of bamboo stick called ‘Tum’ in local language), wild animals and hum an palms. These paintings tell us about people’s way of life and the civilization of the Klong River’s community in the ancient times.
